ORANGE GROVE PARK, SOUTH PASADENA

The South Pasadena Chinese-American Club and the City of South Pasadena are co-hosting the second annual South Pasadena Pickleball Crown Tournament.  64 players participating on 32 total teams, competing in the following Divisions: Advanced, Men’s Intermediate, Women’s Intermediate, Doubles’ Intermediate and Beginners’/Fun level. With City Councilman Jon Primuth as the event DJ and Mamma’s Brick Oven Pizza & Pasta hosting the post tournament Awards Party, join us for a morning of amazing community pickleball! The FREE Pizza and Awards Party at Mamma’s will also host FREE Raffle Drawings for all participants.

Once you have clicked SUBMIT, a copy of your Registration Form will be sent to you. Please note that BOTH PARTNERS will need to submit their own Registration and their own Tournament Fee.

TOURNAMENT FEE & PAYMENT LINK
Tournament cost is $60 per participant which includes the tournament fee, one new Franklin pickleball per team, snacks and drinks, pizza/pasta awards party, a tournament visor and the raffle drawings. The Payment Link will be emailed to you from SPCC91030@gmail.com within 2 days of submitting the above Registration Form. 

TOURNAMENT RULES

  • Games will be played to 11 points, win by 2 points
  • Side out scoring & Teams switch sides at 6 points
  • Any fair method can be used to determine which team has the first choice of side and service or receive
  • The South Pasadena Pickleball Crown will follow all Rules as set up by USA Pickleball unless otherwise stated or shared
  • Beginners/Fun Division will NOT have posted scores or standings & no scores need to be reported to the Tournament
  • Beginners/Fun Division will not have a Championship Game
  • Please take only a few minutes to warm up on the court prior to starting the game
  • We will be sticking to 20 minutes maximum per game – this includes the warm up time
  • If no team has reached 11 points (win by 2) after 20 minutes, the game will still end

MAKE A DONATION TO THE SPCC KARL HWANG SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Each year, SPCC awards three scholarships, which were established in memory of Dr. Karl Hwang, to qualifying SPHS seniors with at least a 3.5 GPA who will be attending an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S.

Dr. Hwang, a former Club President and Co-Founder, was one of the world’s foremost research scientists in clinical pharmacology.
