Karl Hwang Memorial Scholarship

The South Pasadena Chinese–American Club annually grants two scholarships of $1,000 each, to qualifying South Pasadena High School graduating students planning to attend an accredited four-year college or university.  This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Karl Hwang, a former SPCC President.

Dr. Hwang was one of the world’s foremost research scientists in the discipline of clinical pharmacology.  Qualifying applicants will have obtained a minimum grade point average of 3.5. In addition, applicants will be considered on his or her demonstrated leadership qualities, community involvement and on an essay about his/her personal goals to be submitted with the application.  Applications can be obtained from Ms. Denise Gill at South Pasadena High School, or may be downloaded from this website below.
